About the Festival

The Knighton Festival of Books, Art and Music 16 – 25 October 2026

Festival 2026

The Festival will take place at various venues in Knighton over two weekends, from Friday 16th to Sunday 25th October 2026. Our packed programme includes poetry, talks and interviews with inspiring writers, a film, an art, crafts and book fair, and an art exhibition. The ever popular Willow Globe Theatre group will be joining us again this year for a performance of The Tempest.

In conjunction with the library, we are also running the Knighton Writing Competition, a poetry and short story competition for aspiring writers of all ages. Details of how to enter are on the website, or ask at Knighton Library. Tickets for most events are £5 except for the poetry tea, play and concert. Book in advance via Eventbrite, or pay on the door.

About the Festival

Knighton Festival CIC is run by a small group of volunteers and is a Community Interest Company Limited by Guarantee, established to deliver public benefit through arts, culture and education. Our aim is to provide accessible cultural events in a rural area with limited arts provision, while encouraging literacy, creativity and lifelong learning. As a CIC, we operate for community benefit, with any surplus reinvested to support our objectives and strengthen the cultural life of Knighton and the surrounding area.

Our Sponsors

We are grateful for the support of the following organisations: Literature Wales, Knighton Town Council, Friends of Knighton Library, and Knighton Rotary Club
